University of Miami is represented in the football program in college football team of Miami Hurricanes. Governed by the NCAA, the team is part of the Atlantic Conference, the Division I Bowl Subdivision Conference. In 1926 the program began and has since been the winningest program in the last quarter century. Currently, home games are played at Dolphin Stadium is located in Miami Gardens, Florida. And the team is currently coached by Randy Shannon, the sixth African-American coach located in College Football Division IA during the tenancy.
Milestones and Achievements
In the years 1983, 1987, 1989, 1991, 2001, were the moments of the Hurricanes have won their national championship. They have a total of five national championships and won the prestigious Heisman Trophy.
